A compilation of the projects that I am involved and also in charge of. This includes the projects done while working inside of the industry (Architecture, Landscape Architecture & Arboriculture) and also academic studio projects done during my studies.
I was introduced to Architecture from my first degree, here most of the works were very experimental and it was merely an introduction to me. After graduation, I landed my first job in a Singaporean architecture firm based in Kuala Lumpur.
To enrich myself on the vital elements of good design, I venture into the academic world of Landscape Architecture. Here I also managed to join a landscape firm doing part time work while continuing my studies. After graduation, I continued to stay in this landscape firm.
To resume my journey as an architect, I enrolled in the next level of my Architecture studies after obtaining my first Master’s degree. I was still working part time as a Landscape Architect while studying. Through ups and downs, although it was difficult I managed to finish my Part 2 studies. I had also partaken in a couple of Arboriculture works to continue being involved in the related industry.
After all of the straying from the path of being an architect, I am now taking the forward steps back into the architecture, design & construction industry. Being well versed in the other disciplines that make a good design, I believe that I can do better not only as an designer but as an architect that honestly cares about the environment with its users.
Industry Experiences
The industry experience shown here was mostly about Landscape Architecture as I have spent most of my years in. Here I have gained valuable experience in Project Management. Also I would have more experience in many types of projects as I am exposed and involved in many projects at the same time as compared to other Architecture graduates. Here I have also enriched myself with planting design skills so that I may integrate landscapes better into architecture. The ones mainly displayed are some of the projects worth mentioning while there are other landscape architecture projects also compiled in the ‘other projects’ section.
I have also included some Architecture projects that I am involved in at my first work in an architect firm after my graduation in my first bachelor’s degree and my experience in the Arboriculture field. Although there’s only a couple of projects worth mentioning, these are valuable experiences. The knowledge and skills gained here have enabled me to become prudent in designing works of architecture that are complimented with landscapes.
Academic Studios
The academic studio works are some of the works which I have done during my studies. I have highlighted a few that show my growth in this field. These projects are arranged chronologically. The first three show my studio works during my bachelor’s degree studies. Works here were very experimental and it shows that I am able to think outside of the box in creating architectural interventions.
Continued with selected studio works from my Master in Landscape Architecture studies. Here the emphasis is given on masterplanning, therefore the works produced were very much on urban and park masterplanning. Little on design but the theories of good design and planning were incorporated in the works done.
The last three depict the studio works done during my Master in Architecture studies. In these works, the focus was research based design. By including this as an integral part of the design, somehow justifies the work and makes the architectural intervention more functional.
